In this session, we will discuss the return to Borikén —the process of returning to ancestral lands in a way that honors cultural heritage, community values, and connections.

We will discuss practical and emotional aspects of returning to Puerto Rico, including navigating the lack of housing to avoid displacement, reconnecting with local traditions, and addressing the impacts of colonization on the community and infrastructure.

The session emphasizes cultural sensitivity, centering local perspectives, as well as addressing racial/class bias, while exploring pathways for sustainable return, community integration, and healing. 

Resources and next steps will be reviewed to support a respectful and intentional return.

Every person had their own story of having left or having been raised outside of the island since they were young - lets use this time to center where you are now and discuss what next steps might be necessary to help you return.
